THURSDAY THUNDER WINNER

Ashton Whitener is in Victory Circle after winning week 5 of Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Thursday Thunder series in the Young Lions division. In Ashton’s third season racing in the series, this is her debut year behind the wheel of a Legends car. This race made track history since this is the first time in the 21 years of the series three females finished 1-2-3, Ashton Whitener finishing first with Annabelle Mohwish of Cumming second and Audrie Ruark of Suwanee finishing third.

Ashton was just the 14th female driver to win in over 1,200 races at the Thunder Ring. Racing continues at Atlanta Motor Speedway each Thursday night through July 26. Grandstand admission is just $5 per person and kids 5 and under are free.
