Several Sentenced in Superior Court

Jasper County Superior Court Judge William Prior, Jr. oversaw a number of motion day and arraignment cases on June 26.

Kody Ray Rake was sentenced to 10 years with the first 180 days in the state probation detention center for three counts of burglary in the first degree. In addition to court fees of $1,000, the defendant must pay $1,437 in restitution to various individuals.

Joel Keith Haddock, 36 months of probation for plea to lesser charge on three counts of theft by taking as misdemeanors instead of felonies. In addition to the court fee of $800, he must pay restitution of $350 to Jasper County Fire Services.

Skyler Andrea Underwood, 24 months of probation for possession of a controlled substance. Fined $700.

Willie Jones, 12 months of probation for possession of marijuana, less than an ounce and fined $500. A charge of tampering with evidence was nolle prossed.

Patrick Charles White, 12 months of probation for plea to lesser charge of possession of drug related object instead of possession of cocaine and fined $500. A charge of possession of a knife during commission of a felony was nolle prossed.

Larandy Steven Gotel, 12 months of probation for plea to lesser charge of disorderly conduct instead of battery, family violence. Fined $500.

Anthony Jerome Smith, 12 months of probation with the first 72 hours served in Jasper County jail for driving under the influence and open container with a charge of failure to stop at sign nolle prossed.

Pamela Rebekah Whitt, 12 months of probation for plea to lesser offense of possession of marijuana as misdemeanor instead of illegal substance near schools and fined $500. A charge of dangerous drugs for sale, distribution or possession was nolle prossed.

Mathew Duchaine had probation revoked to 240 days in the Jasper County jail which was suspended upon entry into the Palm House, a long-term in patient substance abuse treatment program. He committed the new offense of possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects as well as theft by shoplifting in April 2018. .

Mitchell Sailors had probation revoked to 180 days in jasper County jail which was suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center for 120 days. He tested positive for drugs in June 2017 and has failed to report to probation appointments and pay court fees.

Michael Howard had probation revoked to 45 days in Jasper County jail for changing residence without permission.

In other court action, Judge Prior established a pretrial diversion for Joseph Iona, ordered bond for Joann Hardin, and dead docketed bench warrant case for Allen Moss.
