Early Voting Is Under Way

Early voting for the July 24 run-off election began Monday, and continues until Friday, July 20.

Voting takes place in the Courthouse from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, and absentee ballots are available. As of late morning Monday, some 11 people had voted in person, and 80 absentee ballots had been sent out, and most of them returned.

On the Republican ballot are the offices of governor, lieutenant governor, and secretary of state. On the Democratic ballot is the office of state school superintendent. Those who voted in the primary in May must select the same party’s ballot to vote in the runoff. Those who did not vote in May can still vote in July, and can select which ballot they prefer. Those selected for each party will run in the general election in November.
