Open House Showcases Restored Auditorium

Thomas Persons Hall at 319 College Street last Thursday celebrated the grand opening of the main floor and auditorium of the building.

Susan Haynes, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Jasper County Historical Foundation (JCHF) gave an overview of the building which was built in 1922.

Then, Ann Mercer, long time volunteer and project director gave a more in-depth look at the building. She mentioned numerous activities for which it has been used since it ceased being used as a school.

Following official remarks, the crowd adjourned to tour the building and enjoy refreshments provided by members of JCHF.
