Burglaries Are Reported Around County

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) investigated several reports of theft in the last week, and the most serious was on Doe Lane in Mansfield where several items of jewelry and cash were reported stolen. Cash was also taken from an address on Lakeshore Drive.

Another burglary of undisclosed items was reported at an address on Hwy. 11 north.

Deputies were called to Lakeview Marina concerning a lost or stolen trailer tag, and counterfeit money was allegedly attempted to be used at the local Dairy Queen. A deputy recovered a stolen gun in a traffic stop at Hwys. 83 and 142 in Shady Dale. There was also a unspecified report of theft by conversion on Oconee Forest Road, and theft by deception at Transformation Therapy.

Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Shirley Jean Suttles, 58, Monticello—obstruction of a law enforcement officer (eight counts) and disorderly conduct.

•Rebecca Rosezane Long, 31, Jackson—terroristic threats, aggravated assault and false imprisonment.

•Horis Alexander Ward, III, 51, Monticello—aggravated assault and battery.

•Valorie Reyna Tate, 55, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain lane and duty upon striking unattended vehicle.

•Cameron Lenard Franklin, 32, Monticello—cruelty to children-3rd degree (four counts) and battery.

•Robert Steven Allen, 31, Covington—probation violation.

•Michael Todd Howard, 41, Rutledge—probation violation.

•Kimberly Denise McClendon, 49, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to stop at stop sign.
