Sentences Are Handed Down in Superior Court
Donna Melissa Hornsby is to serve three years in confinement on a 10 year sentence for the sale of methamphetamine, according to her sentencing in Jasper Superior Court last Tuesday during a review of the motion day calendar. The remainder of her sentence may be served on probation and she was also fined $1,500.
Clint Ledwayne Jackson also received one year of confinement of a three year sentence for theft by shoplifting while violating his previous probation conditions. He also tested positive for cocaine and has failed to pay court fines. He was fined $1,000.
Superior Court defendants receiving probation sentences include:
Matthew Guy Stephenson, sentenced to 10 years of probation for burglary in the first degree and must pay restitution of $5,500 while also being sentenced an additional year of probation for theft by taking and ordered to pay restitution of $405. Both sentences will run concurrently.
Morgan Cierra Payne, sentenced to three years of probation for theft by taking, theft of lost or mislaid property, and two counts of forgery in the fourth degree. Fined $500 and ordered to pay restitution of $125.
Torri Leah McCart, sentenced to three years of probation for two counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and sale/distribution of dangerous drugs. Fined $1,000.
Keyshawn Ramon Jackson, sentenced to one year of probation for possession of marijuana. Fined $500.

Kathleen Matthews, two years revoked to the penal system for failure to meet several pre-existing probation conditions.
Lucious Odom, Jr., 168 days revoked to serve in Jasper County jail for new offense of possession with intent to distribute and failure to meet pre-existing probation condition from a possession of marijuana case.
Bryan Champion, 30 days revoked to Jasper County jail suspended upon completion of alcohol and drug evaluation within 45 days for positive drug test and failure to meet pre-existing probation conditions from a possession of marijuana case.
Joseph Stephenson, 30 days revoked to Jasper County jail suspended upon completion of 40 hours of community service by July 2018 for positive drug test and failure to meet pre-existing probation conditions from a driving under the influence case.
Thomas Conner, 30 days revoked to Jasper County jail suspended upon completion of risk reduction program and alcohol and drug evaluation within 60 days for failure to meet pre-existing probation conditions from a driving under the influence case.

Thomas McQurter, Jr., sentenced to serve two years in confinement of a 10 year sentence for failure to register as sex offender. Fined $1,500 and credited with time served since September 2017.
Regina McKelvey, sentenced to one day in Jasper County jail of a three year sentence for possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and driving under the influence. Fined $1,500.
Tawanna Lane, sentenced to five years of probation for driving while license suspended, possession of marijuana, and two counts of crossing the guard line with contraband. Fine $1,000.
