Deputies Investigate Thefts

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office investigated several reports of theft in the last week, including a burglary at an address on Funderburg Drive where a large television, sound system, rifle, and pocketbooks were taken. They also investigated a burglary on Brookwood Drive where a baby ring, and some currency and coins were taken.

Another theft occurred on Forsyth Street, when a hedge trimmer, blower and gas were taken from an address. A 9mm semiautomatic handgun was allegedly taken from an address on Marben Farm Road. Lastly, deputies are investigating the report of a suspected counterfeit bill at a business in town.

Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Felicia Lynn Crowe, 32, Monticello—probation violation.

•Wendy Cherylle Nash, 41, Covington—possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (two counts), false statements and writings, concealment of fact and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

•Mathew John Duchaine, 30, Monticello—probation violation.

•Michael Oneal Lyons, 51, Shady Dale—public drunkenness.

•Joshua Terrell Thomas, 24, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•David Tinsley, Jr., 39, Monticello—parole violation and burglary-2nd degree.

•John Carter Hewitt, 27, Smyrna—operating vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs and operating a personal watercraft during hours of darkness.

•Christopher Clark Kraft, 31, Covington—possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects.

•Amber Symone Brown, 29, Monticello—probation violation.

•London Jade Kent, 18, Mansfield—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Mitchell Alton Sailors, 49, Monticello—probation violation.
