Mrs. Martha Ann Ross

Mrs. Martha Ann Ross was born in Monticello on Marc 10, 1941 to the late Mr. and Mrs. James (Mamie Lou) Green. She died May 4, 2018. Services were held Saturday, May 12, at Greenwood Baptist Church in Shady Dale. Bishop Nicholas curry, pastor,a officiated. Burial was in Shady Dale Community Cemetery in Shady Dale.

Mrs. Ross received her education from the Jasper County Training School, and was a faithful member of Greenwood Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board until her health began to fail. She obtained several jobs in the manufacturing industry which she later gave up to become a caregiver.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Leon Green; a grandson, Stedman Deon Jackson; a sister, Viola Matthews; two brothers, Eddie Green and Hudorsea Jenkins, and one niece, Rosa Jackson.

Mrs. Ross is survived by her loving husband, Robert Ross Jr., a son, O’Neal Green; two stepsons, Patrick (Lawanda) Griggs and Clinton (Virginia) Ross, both of Covington; two sisters, Annie Florence Jackson of Monticello and Mary Isaac of Virginia Beach, Va.; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, seven sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. She also leaves to cherish her memory a very special daughter-in-law, Mrs. Loretta Jackson Green.
