Pair Is Arrested with Drugs
On Tuesday, April 3, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit arrested Tammy Croy, 39, of Oxford, and Jason Loyd, 26, of Porterdale. These two individuals are part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of methamphetamine here in Jasper County, said the announcement from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
The methamphetamine, digital scale, packaging material, U.S. currency and handgun were all in the possession of the two suspects. The handgun was loaded with 10 rounds. Ms. Croy and.Mr. Loyd were both charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and sale of methamphetamine.
Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office investigated only two thefts in the last week. One was in Mansfield, on Dogwood Circle, where a riding mower was taken.
The other was on Sandpiper Drive, and the JCSO report did not indicate what was taken.
In another case, a man was arrested after he allegedly grabbed a female who was jogging and pulled her to his vehicle where he was masturbating. Arrested for that offense was Rory Allen Mooney, 27, of Monticello. He was charged with false imprisonment, simple battery and public indecency.
Others who were arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Joshua Vernon Christian, 21, Monticello—hold for warrant in Douglas Co.
•James Anthony Watson, 29, Monticello—criminal trespass.
•Tracey Dawn Gibson, 45, Lexington—hold for warrant in Oconee Co.
•Shirley Wise Benton, 58, Monticello—Jasper County Superior Court bench warrant.
