Keith Darrell Carter

A celebration of life of Keith Darrell Carter who died March 27, 2018, was held Monday, April 2, at Concord Primitive Church in Monticello. Elder H.G. Terry, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Willie Goolsby, Corted Blount, Cortez Wilson, Mike Duggans, Robert Gardner, and Gregory Head. Family members and friends were flower attendants.

Mr. Carter was known to many as “Buckeye” or “Sweat” and was born in Jasper County on May 2, 1968 to the late Henry Vance Goolsby, Sr., and Mamie Lee Goolsby.

His father, and two brothers, Rodney Goolsby and Henry Vance Goolsby, Jr., preceded him in death.

Mr. Carter received his formal education in the Bibb County School System. He was employed as a chef at Marriott Courtyard.

Surviving his departure with cherished memories include his mother, Mrs. Mamie Lee Goolsby of Macon; a devoted friend, Farran McMillan, and children, Jalasia McMillan, Tonasia McMillan, Tony Avery and Jaden Avery; a brother, Fredrick Carter (Annie) of Macon; three sisters, Cassandra Pennamon of Monticello, Teresa Goolsby and Tomeca Goolsby, both of Macon; four aunts (three of Monticello and one of Macon) an uncle of Monticello, a special friend Darrell Taylor of Macon, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
