BAND VISITS UNIVERSAL STUDIOS

The Marching Hurricanes spent the first part of their spring break traveling to Universal Studios in Orlando to participate in the Universal Sound Design: Music and the Art of Foley workshop.

While in the workshop students were able to learn about music careers in the recording and film industries. They also recorded the music, voices, and sound effects for a short clip from Despicable Me. In addition to spending time in the Universal Studios parks, students also attended a performance of Blue Man Group and had the opportunity to talk with some of the crew and a performer after the show, where they learned more about what it takes to be a performer and crew member on a stage show such as Blue Man Group.
