Towonder Dennis Announces Candidacy for School Board

Towonder Dennis of Monticello has announced that she will be running for the District 1 seat on the Jasper County Board of Education in the upcoming election.
A proud graduate of Jasper County High School, Mrs. Dennis is an entrepreneur. She is the owner of Besley’s Event Center and Towonder’s Beauty Salon and Supply Store located in downtown Monticello. She has been in business since 1996.
Mrs. Dennis has actively participated in the apprenticeship program for the Jasper County School System, and has helped many students. She has also participated in the school’s summer work program.
Mrs. Dennis has been actively engaged in the school system. She served on the School Council for two years, and currently is vice president of the school governance team at Jasper County High School.
She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce. She is the president of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA). She is also a 2017 graduate of Leadership Jasper.
Mrs. Dennis said, “I am a dedicated parent who cares passionately about my children’s education as well as the children of Jasper County.”
She has actively supported her children through the Jasper County School System, and currently has one tenth grader.
As Mrs. Dennis runs for the seat of District 1, she states that, “I pledge to do my best to serve as a loyal and dedicated board member.”
