Superior Court Handles Many Cases

Judge William A. Prior, Jr. had some lengthy days in Jasper Superior Court last week as the criminal trial calendar was reviewed with several cases on the docket.

Ryan O’Rourke, sentenced to 10 years with the first 180 days in a state probation detention center for criminal attempt to commit a felony and computer pornography. Following the 180 days, he may serve the remainder on probation. Fined $2,000.

Robert Iacopelli, sentenced to 10 years with the first 180 days in a state probation detention center for criminal attempt to commit a felony and computer pornography. Following the 180 days, he may serve the remainder on probation. Fined $1,500.

Desmond Willingham, sentenced to eight years with the first 120-150 days in the state probation detention center for sale of methamphetamine. The remainder of the sentence may be served on probation. Fined $2,000.

Hakeel Norwood, sentenced to seven years with the first 120 days in confinement for burglary in first degree. The remainder of the sentence may be served on probation. Fined $1,000 and must pay restitution of $200 to victim.

Marchinlo Wyman, sentenced to seven years with first 90 days in Jasper County jail for sale of cocaine. He was credited for time served since November 2017. The remainder of the sentence may be served on probation. Fined $1,500.

Adam Lopez, sentenced to five years with the first 30 days in Jasper County jail for two obstruction of an officer charges, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct. Fined $1,000 and must pay restitution of $570 to victim.

Rosa Rodriquez, sentenced to one year of probation with first 24 hours in Jasper County jail for driving under the influence and open container. Fined $600.

Carl Mahaffey, sentenced to two years with first 10 days in Jasper County jail for two counts each of driving while license suspended and simple battery, family violence. Fined $1,000.

Carl Mahaffey, sentenced to five years of probation for possession of firearm by convicted felon, manufacture of marijuana, and possession of cocaine. Fined $1,500.

Anita Williams, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), and possession of drug related objects. Fined $500.

Cassie Thompson, sentenced to three years of probation for battery, family violence, battery, and obstruction of an officer. Fined $600.
