SNOW DAYS

Jasper County school children missed two days of school last week after a snowfall Tuesday night. Roads were treacherous on Wednesday morning, and many had not improved enough by Thursday morning to have the children back in school. They returned to classes Friday. Several parents saw The Monticello News Facebook or newspaper post and sent in photos of their children in the snow. Thank you to our readers! Besides schools, most businesses were closed Wednesday and government offices opened late on Thursday. Several accidents were reported, mostly single vehicle.
