Shooting Fugitive Is Sought

Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night, Jasper County deputies responded to Sanders Heights apartments in reference to gunfire.

Deputies found that multiple vehicles had been damaged and that the perpetrator(s) had fled the scene. After processing the scene, arrest warrants were obtained for Jameal Jefferies for multiple charges including aggravated assault. Any person having information about the incident is asked to contact Investigator Heather Murray at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, 706-468-4912.

It was a light week for arrests, with only five being reported. Persons arrested in the last week include:

•John Lamar Meeks, 41, Covington—burglary.

•John Dwayne Farley, 57, Eatonton—probation violation.

•Allison Michelle Rachels, 38, Monticello—aggravated assault, cruelty to children-2nd degree and simple battery.

•Lukas M. Adam Berg, 37, Monticello—cruelty to children-1st degree, aggravated stalking and criminal trespass.

•Zulema Virdianna Carrizales, 17, Atlanta—driving without a valid license.
