Laundromat Is Burglarized, Vandalized

Someone visited the laundromat on West Washington Street in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, and proceeded to vandalize the machines, looking for money, damaging the washers and dryers, and making off with the Coke machine and a video game console, according to a report from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO). No arrests had been made as of Tuesday evening.

Deputies did, however, arrest Joseph Lawrence Parr who had been on the run since deputies took warrants for him some two weeks ago. Mr. Parr, of a Shady Dale address, is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, forgery-1st degree, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, theft by taking, burglary-1st degree, owning, operating or conducting a chop shop, theft by receiving stolen property (two counts), conspiracy to commit a felony, drug related objects, criminal trespass and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

There were quite a few arrests by the JCSO during the week. Others arrested and their charges include:

•Nikie Furrell Sands, 30, Monticello—hold for warrant in Rockdale Co.

•Omid Kamali, 29, Roswell—sexual exploitation of children.

•Terry Levi Thompson, 46, Oxford—criminal damage to property-2nd degree.

•Clayton Scott Hardy, 23, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

•Tony Rudolph Boone, 59, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.

•William Cherry Hunter, 68, Monticello—possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Marty Lyle Bilbrey, Jr., 27, Newborn—battery.

•Shondor Marvell Burns, 30, Griffin—driving while license suspended or revoked.

•Kimberlyn Jamil Clark, 36, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Donna Melissa Hornsby, 33, Madison—sale of methamphetamine.

•Ashton Michelle Cleveland, 28, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked giving false name, address or birthdate to law enforcement and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Teresa Brooke Hayes, 58, Jackson—theft by taking.

•Kent Anthony Miller, 33, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine.

•Teresa Lyon Harley, 66, Monticello—possession of Schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and probation violation.

•Amber Leigh McEver, 26, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine.

•Terrance Antonia Bostic, 31, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce and probation violation.

•Alvin Donald Taylor, 64, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine.

•Shannon Kelly Moore, 41, Monticello—failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
