William David Thompson

William David Thompson, age 67, passed away Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, in Shady Dale.

David Thompson was born in Marked Tree, Arkansas to the late Howard Edwin Thompson and Mary Catherine White Thompson. His wife was the late Opal Thompson.

Before retirement, he worked as an inspector for Old Castle in Shady Dale. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. from February 1968 until February 1971.

His greatest love was his dogs.

He is survived by his children, Stacey Thompson and William D. Thompson; sisters and brothers, Patricia Holder of Blue Ridge, Lynn Thompson of Charlotte, N.C., Brenda Price of Locust Grove and James Thompson of Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Russell White will officiate.
