Taj Ammons

A celebration of life for Taj Dalanquez “Tahj” Ammons, who died December 15, 2017, was held December 21 at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Shady Dale. Rev. Annette Gude Howard officiated; Rev. Michelle Rizer-Pool, pastor, was eulogist.

Tahj was born May 2, 1997 to Tameka Pennamon and Ellis Ammons of Monticello. His life was committed to Christ at an early age.

Before his accident on May 8, 1999, Tahj was a very active little boy who loved all kinds of sport balls. After the accident, he was diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury, which he endured for 18 years.

Tahj was preceded in death by his sister, Mirakle C. Ammons and his grandfather, Albert Lee Pennnamon.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his parents and a loving father figure, Steven Davis; sisters, Taneisha, Daisha, Stevi, Arlaycha, Deidriuanna, Destiny, DeShanti, Elliauana, Nyasia and Erielle; brothers, Steven and Devin; grandparents, Debra Ringer, Linda Ammons and Ellis (Tomasia) Ammons; aunts, Santresa, Kira and Bridgette; uncles, Jermaine (Tina McCall), Kareem (Shawn) Shabazz, Ralph, Alex, Ellis, Olajuwan, Keyshawn, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
