Ms. Johnson was born August 3, 1954, in Monticello to the late Vince “Cubo” Johnson and Katie (Alexander) Johnson. She was the second of five children.
Ms. Johnson attended Monticello High School and graduated in 1972. Later that year she moved to Atlanta, and soon landed a job working at the Johnson Flucker Candy Factory where she would then meet a tall, handsome gentleman, Jimmie Lee Craig, and soon after in 1973, they would give birth to a beautiful baby girl named Sherita.
In her mid 20s, Lynn began work at a neighborhood convenience stores. It is no secret that she had a thing for tall handsome fellas because it was here that she met Tyrone Beaty and soon gave birth to an adorable baby boy named Khristopher in 1988.
In addition to earning her diploma, Ms. Johnson also graduated from Dekalb Technical College holding a degree in computer programming. She was fast and accurate when it came to typing and she loved it. With these skills she went ton to become an encoder for Sears Roebuck where she worked for 16 years.
She was a strong woman, and very straight forward. She was a force to be reckoned with but yet lovable beyond measures and that is what many will remember when they think of Lynn. She will definitely be missed.
She leaves behind a daughter, Sherita (Craig) Brown and husband, Kenwin Brown; a son, Khristopher Johnson and his long time girlfriend, Alexis Mitchell; six grandchildren, Laporshe Craig, Roshonda Craig, Treysean Brown, Ronard Neal Jr., Kayle Brown and Kennedi Johnson; five great-grandchildren, Santazia Craig (Tootie Fruity), Kendrick Green, T’Rhigi Craig, Kaloni Neal and Sage Brown.
Ms. Johnson had four siblings, Geneva (LC) Miller, Vince Johnson, Kathy (Cookie) Martinez and Roy (Wanda) Johnson, her baby brother who assisted with taking care of her during her last days. She had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special acknowledgement to two of Lynn’s very close friends who she loved dearly, Ms. Diane Futrell and Michael Sales.
