David Gregory Byron
A celebration of life for David Gregory Byron will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, 20176 at 1 p.m. at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, 8937 Hillsboro Street, Monticello. Rev. Jimmy Horton, pastor, will officiate.
Mr. Byron was born June 3, 1959 in Atlanta. His parents, David and Eula Elleby Byron moved the family to Queens, N.Y. in 1961.
He was educated in the school of Queens County and graduated from John Adams High School in New York. Her served three years active duty as a medical specialist in the United State Army.
He returned to New York where he resided until he moved to Monticello in 1991. Mr. Byron held many jobs in New York and Georgia as a warehouseman with various companies. He loved volunteering at the Jasper County Food Bank.
He was baptized in the Baptist faith at an early age, and attended Springfield Baptist Church upon his move to Georgia. He enjoyed basketball, football and bowling. He was a cheerful, loving person to all. He was affectionately known to his family and friends as Greg.
His father preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, Eula Elleby Byron; a sister, Lauren Byron (Armond) White of Flint, Mich.; a brother, Stanley Byron of Monticello; an aunt, Florence Adams of Savannah; three nieces, two nephews, a great-nephew, a special cousin, Phyllis Norwood, and other relatives and friends.
