Tie-Breaker Determines Contest Winner

Whitney Delveau may live in Iowa, but that doesn’t stop her from playing The Monticello News football contest.
She is the daughter of Ed Hall of Monticello, and he e-mails her the contest each week for her to make her picks. Then he sends it in, and the whole family is playing. And they’re good.
This week, Whitney won the contest with 13 right, beating out six others who also had 13 right but were further off on the tie-breaker score. Forty-one points were scored in Jackson’s defeat of Monticello, and Ms. Delveau guessed 42 points would be scored in that game.
Picking up the prize for Ms. Delveau was Kasey Hall, Ed’s wife, who collected a $25 prize from Clint Currie at Monticello Auto Parts. Others who got 13 right included Braxton Hancock, David Wease, Jason Greenway, Chad Mobley, Stan Humphreys, and Cameron Mobley.
Twenty-seven others also got 12 right to have their names added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll of four tickets to the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta. See full honor roll along with contest rules and entry form on page 10.
This week, another talented, or lucky, game player will collect a $25 prize for winning, and have his or her name added to the honor roll. This week’s sponsor is Lewis & Malone Heating & Air Conditioning. Just make your picks, and get your entry form in by 5 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 22.
Please write legibly, and include first and last name on your entry. Only one entry per person!
Remember you can fax to 706-468-6576; e-mail to info@themonticellonews.com ONLY, or bring in person to 247 West Washington Street.
And, the contest is made possible by our sponsors. So, please be sure to patronize the advertisers in the contest, without them there would be no contest, no grand prize, nothing.
