Monticello Church Collects for Houston
Monticello First United Methodist Church is joining the north Georgia Conference in collecting for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Monticello First UMC will receive donations of muck-out materials, Relief kits and financial donations until September 10. After that time, they can still process financial gifts, and other donations as they arrive.
Some items that are needed include box fans, 25’ heavy duty 14-gauge extension cords, two-gallon garden sprayers, flat billed shovels, rakes with three inch tines, two-wheeled wheelbarrows.
According to the church, as the North Georgia Disaster Response Team coordinates across the conferences, and across the connection, two priorities continue to rise to the top: prayer and UMCOR funding. Donations may be made to UMCOR through an North Georgia Conference Church. Donations should be marked UMCOR: US Disaster Response, or give online at umcor.org. One hundred percent of donations will go to Hurricane Harvey relief.
UMCOR has also said there is a need for Relief Supplies. Find assembly instructions at www.umcor.org/UMCOR/Relief-Supplies.
