Ronald Lee Beekman

Ronald Lee Beekman, age 61, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.

Mr. Beekman was born in Hialeah, Fla., to the late Ora Raymond Beekman and Flora Virginia Monk Beekman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Charles Beekman.

He lived at Lake Sinclair before moving to Monticello in 2012. Before retirement, he was a welder and managed D&H Enterprise for 16 years.

Ronald Beekman loved to fish, hunt and go air boating in the Everglades. He enjoyed picking up bottles and cans on the highway and was lovingly known as the “can man” in Jasper County.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Woods Beekman of Monticello; son, David Lee Beekman of Monticello; brothers, Bill Dennis Beekman of Gaffney, S.C. and Michael DeMont Beekman of Loganville; sister, Glenda Watson Tidwell of Covington and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. David Artessa will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2017, prior to the service at Jordan Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations to the Jasper County EMS.
