Persons Are Sentenced in Superior Court
William A. Prior, Jr. reviewed a full docket of motion day court cases last Tuesday with a light docket of criminal cases listed and more civil cases than usual.
During the criminal portion of court, Michael Derek Hopkins was sentenced to 150 days in Jasper County jail for a felony charge of theft by taking. He was fined $1,000 and will serve five years on probation.
Raquel Rosie Casas, sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $500 for possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects. She was also sentenced to 35 days in Jasper County jail with credit for time served for violating previous probation conditions.

Tyler Gage Hall, sentenced to 12 months for possession of marijuana. Fined $400.
Probation revocations included:
Amanda Sue Custer, balance of sentence revoked to the state penal system for new offenses in June 2017 including possession of methamphetamine, forgery in the first and fourth degree, theft by deception, and neglect of an elderly person.
Randall Craig Hegwood, 120 days revoked to Jasper County jail for failure to report to probation officer, failure to complete substance abuse treatment, failure to complete community service, and failure to pay court fees.
Marvin Craig Ash, revoked to 180 days in Jasper County jail but suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center for 120-180 days for new offense across state lines, positive drug test, and failure to complete community service.
Amanda Rose Dial, revoked 90 days to Jasper Count jail for failing to met sex offender condition set forth by court.
Caleb Vinson, revoked 90 days in Jasper County jail for positive drug tests and failure to pay court fees.
Willie Benjamin, revoked 67 days to Jasper County jail for failure to meet probation conditions from an August 2016 offense.
Civil cases included two divorces, four modifications of child custody and visitation, two name changes for minor child, four protective orders, one petition for contempt, one appeal from Magistrate Court, and one emergency injunction.
