Merlin Paul Bartel, Jr.

Merlin Paul Bartel, Jr., 56, passed away at Jasper Memorial Hospital, August 2, 2017.

He was born in Atlanta, Ga., April 25, 1961, to Jeri and Merlin Paul Bartel, Sr. Mr. Bartel was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Bartel.

Mr. Bartel was a veteran of The United States Navy and worked as a deliveryman for Gwinnett County Meals on Wheels.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Jeri Shaw Williams and Donald Williams, Tucker, Ga.; daughter, Jessica Bartel, Mansfield; grandchild, Merlin Matthew Bartel; step-brother, Darrell Williams, Tucker, and sister, Carla Stiver, Woodstock.

A memorial service will be held at Gaithers United Methodist Church, Covington, Ga, 11 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017.
