Stolen Vehicle Is Recovered

Jasper County deputies recovered a stolen Polaris Slingshot from a hangar at Bill Garvey’s airstrip off Hwy. 212 west last week.

According to the report from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), an investigator received information from a confidential source that a Polaris Slingshot was on location at the airport and that the vehicle’s ignition had been removed. When the tip was investigated it was found to be true.

The vehicle was towed from the hangar, and William Winfield Garvey, III, is a suspect in the case.

In a separate incident, two donkeys were reported missing from an address on Aikenton Road in north Jasper County. That incident is still under investigation.

Also, during the last week, a number of people were booked into the Jasper County Detention Center on various charges. They include:

•Tavares Marques Jackson, 36, Monticello—sale of cocaine (four counts), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (10 counts), purchase/possession/manufacture/distribute or sale of marijuana (two counts) and use of communication facility in commission of a felony (four counts).

•Chelse Brooke Chrisley, 32, Flovilla—purchase/possession/manufacture/distribute or sale of marijuana.

•Michael Keith Dorough, 27, Flovilla—possession of methamphetamine and purchase/possession/manufacture/distribute or sale of marijuana.

•Tamika Ann Ammons, 37, Monticello—reckless driving and failure to report an accident.

•John Daniel LaFlamme, Jr., Williamson—probation violation.

•Robbie Darlen Reagin, 27, Shady Dale—hold out of Newton Co.

•Devante Xavier Campbell, 20, Monticello—no insurance, driving on expired license, improper left turn and unregistered vehicle.

•Bryan David Shoemaker, 35, Monticello—simple battery and duty to report accident.

•Matthew William Sanders, 21, McDonough—failure to maintain lane and driving under influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Adrian Adonis Battle, 35, Newborn—child support.

Deputies also responded to numerous calls, including 76 stopping suspicious person or vehicle, 65 premises check, 51 serve civil papers, 14 alarms, 13 subject needs officer, 10 each roadway hazard and sex offender check, and numerous other calls of various types.
