Cougar Athletes Qualify for State Track

Several Piedmont Academy track athletes used standout performances at the region meet to propel themselves to the upcoming state meet.

Qualifying for state for Piedmont were:

•J.T. Webb, second place, shot put

•Madison McCart, second place, high jump

•Taylor Patterson, second place, 300-meter hurdles

•Emily Mills, third place, 400-meter dash

•Cassidy Cook, third place, 100-meter dash

•Alexis Dodson, third place, high jump

•Emily Mills, Cassidy Cook, Caitlyn Young and Taylor Patterson, third place, 4×100-meter relay

•Trent Coots, fourth place, 3,200-meter run

•Mallory Boyd, fourth place, 3,200-meter run

•Emily Mills, fourth place, 100-meter dash

The GISA state track meet will go through Saturday in Albany. Piedmont athletes will begin competing April 27 and continue Friday, April 28 at 11 a.m. and Saturday, April 29 at 9:30 a.m.
