STEAM Expo Is Planned

The community is invited to attend this Saturday’s STEAM Expo, including a Pi-K fun run/walk to benefit the Jasper County High School BETA Club at 9 a.m. and a big vehicle line-up at Jasper County High School.

Vehicles will include first responders, a tractor, heavy equipment and other professional, military and governmental work horses. The expo will include student work and hands-on exhibits such as a robot obstacle course, drone flying and civil and solar engineering. Many professionals will be on hand to discuss careers in STEAM areas, such as welders, engineers and educators.

Educators from the NASA Kennedy Space Center and the Warner Robins Museum of Aviation will be hosting several events this weekend as part of Jasper County Schools’ STEAM Expo.

On Friday, April 21, the public is invited to a starry night telescope viewing starting at 8 p.m. at JCHS. NASA educators will have an exhibit at the STEAM Expo from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, and then they will provide a special program on the upcoming total solar eclipse and a “Day in the Life of a NASA Engineer” at 1 p.m. All events will take place at JCHS, 14477 Hwy. 11 north.
