SUESS DAY

A large crowd of young and young at heart people turned out Saturday to Jasper County High School for the annual literacy event, Seuss on the Loose. Children took part in many activities and games, and more than 30 items were given away as people purchased tickets to support childhood literacy, and used those tickets for drawings.
The children used the tickets mostly for the games and activities which kept them entertained all morning. The festival benefits the Ferst Foundation which provides a book a month to children from newborn until five years old. It is held the first Saturday in March to coincide with the birthday of the author of the Dr. Seuss books.
