CAR DRIVER IS INJURED

These two vehicles collided last Wednesday, March 1 at the intersection of Hwy. 212 east and Hwy. 380. According to a report from the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), vehicle 1, a 2000 Cadillac Seville driven by Leslie Asbell of Monticello was traveling south on Hwy. 380. She came to a complete stop at the stop sign. Meanwhile, a 2016 Dodge Ram pick-up driven by Luke Lamar Smith of Griffin was traveling on Hwy. 212. After stopping Ms. Asbell proceeded through the intersection, not seeing Mr. Smith, and the two vehicles collided. After impact, Ms. Asbell landed off Hwy. 212 next to the tree line, and had to be extracted from the vehicle. She was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Meanwhile, Mr. Smith came to rest on Hwy. 380 in the middle of the road. In addition to the GSP, Jasper County emergency officials responded, including deputies, fire and medical apparatus and personnel.
