Virginia Francis Culpepper Hogan

Virginia Francis Culpepper Hogan, age 95, of Norcross, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at her residence.

Virginia Hogan was born in Orange, Texas, to the late Byron Culpepper and Ruth Clark Hayes Culpepper. She was a 1942 graduate of Winthrop College with a degree in Dietetics.

Virginia Hogan excelled at being the best wife and mother she could be. She was a dynamic and energetic, people loving extrovert. Virginia’s “art” and talent was focused on her family through her love of cooking, sewing, flower arranging, and throwing a great party! She would throw things together with no planning; and have a natural ability to make it work and work well! She had a remarkable enthusiasm for life!

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death in 2010, by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Baxter Hogan, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Baxter Hogan, III of Norcross, Novia Hogan Lytle of Atlanta, and Monnie Sue Hogan of Norcross; grandchildren, Kelly Hogan, Nicole Lytle Rej and Robert Bruce Lytle, IX; and great grandchildren, Emily Rej, Katrina Rej and Robert Bruce Lytle, X.

A graveside service will be held at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Talmadge Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. David Artessa will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Hogan, III, Bob Lytle, IX, Richard Minor, Eric Nesbit, Mike Johnson and Kevin Rej.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon, Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Jordan Funeral Home.
