Middle School Cougars Post Hoops Victories

Piedmont Academy’s Middle School basketball teams hosted Oak Mountain Friday.

The Middle School boys earned a 37-33 win while the girls fell in a close 18-16 contest.

Ryan Holder led the boys with 16 points while Cameron Mobley added 12 points. Dawson Coe finished with eight points while Drake Coody added a free throw in the third quarter.

For the Lady Cougar,s Maddie Waddleton scored a team-high seven points while Fleming Sealy finished with six points in a game that was close the entire way.

Sydney Stroud added two points and Calley Cook had a free throw.

On Saturday the Middle School Lady Cougars defeated Creekside at home 37-28. Haley Ann Frank scored 11 points while Stroud added eight and Ava Anglin added seven. Waddleton contributed six points while Jayden Young scored five.

The Middle School boys fell to Creekside 59-36 despite 15 points from Holder. Hunter Robinson scored seven points and Coe added six points. Coody scored four points while Colt Hadaway and Brody Anderson both finished with two.

Piedmont’s Middle School basketball teams will host Briarwood Saturday, Jan. 21 beginning at 11 a.m. and Gatewood Tuesday, Jan. 24 beginning at 3:45 p.m.
