Mrs. Geneva Digby

A celebration of life for Mrs. Geneva Digby was held on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at Kings Chapel Community Church in Hillsboro. Burial was at South View Cemetery in Monticello.

Mrs. Geneva Digby was born on May 1, 1930 to the parentage of the late John Thomas and Mrs. Becky Lou Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Digby; brother, Frank Thomas, and sisters, Kate Johnson, Pinky Bland, Mamie Bland, Gladys Thomas and Emma Lou Conwell.

Mrs. Digby was educated in the Jasper County School system.

She loved the outdoors and was an excellent gardener and enjoyed working in the yard with her husband, Ben. They were foster parents to several children, putting religion and education as a priority in their lives. She loved to fish and was a great cook.

Mrs. Digby and her family attended church regularly at St. John CME Church, Kings Chapel Community Church and Springfield Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Rodney Digby of Madison, Ga.; grandson, Xavier Sutton; granddaughter, Brandi Alexis Digby; a sister, Minnie Lee Thomas of Monticello, and three brothers, Robert Thomas of Eastman, Ivan Chatman and Buddy Thomas, both of Monticello; seven sisters-in-law: Mary Digby, Elizabeth Ann Digby, Doris Digby, Emily Digby, Martha Digby, Roberta Brown “Lil Hon” all of Monticello, and Sharon Marable (Dr. Michael Marble) of Valdosta. Also, other relatives and friends.
