Janet Marie Horsley Luttrell

Janet Marie Horsley Luttrell, age 78, of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at her residence.

Marie Luttrell was born in Clarkdale, Ga., to the late Willie Bernice Horsley and Lizzie Inez Bearden Horsley. She lived in Stone Mountain until moving to Mansfield in 2000. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Luttrell.

Before retirement, she worked in the cafeteria at Washington Park School. Marie was a member of New Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet Lynn Maxey of Mansfield, Karen Elaine (Lionel) Dangerfield of Lawrenceville, and Misty Dawn (Sammy) Lanier of Decatur; grandchildren, Michael (Patricia) Maxey, Heather Dangerfield, and Lauren Dangerfield; great-grandchildren, Caroline Maxey and Ellie Marie Maxey; and brother and sister, Larry Horsley of Lithia Springs and Annie Lee Strickland of Douglasville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at New Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Mansfield. Interment will be held in New Rocky Creek Church Cemetery. Dr. Randal Reese will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Maxey, Larry Horsley, David Canup, Eddie Strickland, Lionel Dangerfield and William Mann.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at New Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to New Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 190 Rocky Creek Road, Mansfield, Ga. 30055.
