Danny Tumlin Is Grand Prize Winner

Sometimes, just sometimes, persistence pays off. It did last week for Danny Tumlin, long-time, faithful football contest player. He won the grand prize of four tickets to the Chick-fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta on New Year’s Eve.

Danny, and his wife, Sonja, play the contest every week, and between them had five opportunities to win the grand prize. Of course, only one person can win, and Mr. Tumlin was the lucky one.

The Tumlins have been playing the contest for years, more than a decade, they think, and Mrs. Tumlin brings the entries to town each week. Their son, Matt, and his wife, Mary are also faithful players, but it was Danny who got the honor this time.

Mr. Tumlin was not sure if he and the Mrs. would go or if the tickets might be Christmas presents. Who knows…it’s up to the Tumlins to decide.

So it goes, another year of football winds down, and The Monticello News football contest is over for now, but rest assured, it will be back next year.
