Piedmont Middle School Teams Win

Piedmont Academy’s Middle School basketball teams swept St. George Episcopal last week on the road.

The Middle School Lady Cougars earned a 14-12 win behind eight points from Fleming Sealy. Raleigh Lofton, Cally Cook and Hannah Tyler added two points each in the victory.

The Middle School boys took a 37-15 win behind a 10-point effort from Cameron Mobley, including a six-point second quarter. Ryan Holder finished with eight points while Dawson Coe scored six points.

Drake Coody finished with four points while Colt Hadaway added three points in a balanced scoring effort. Mason Owens, Andrew Parrish and Ryan Reeves all scored two points.

Piedmont’s Middle School teams also hosted John Milledge Academy on Friday. Maddie Waddleton and Lofton, who both scored four points, during the 34-13 loss, led the Lady Cougars.

Malynne Webb scored a three-pointer and Sealy finished with two points.

In the boys contest, Coe scored 14 points and Holder scored 12, but John Milledge still managed to take a 49-36 win. Mobley added eight points for the Cougars while Hunter Robinson scored two.

The Middle School Cougars will return to the court Friday, Dec. 9 when they host Thomas Jefferson beginning at 3:45 p.m. They will play at Flint River Academy Saturday, Dec. 10 beginning at noon before traveling to Creekside Monday, Dec. 12 for games starting at 4 p.m.
