Jerry Wayne Sparks

Jerry Wayne Sparks, 72, of Monticello, passed away on November 27, 2016 at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at Monticello Baptist Church on Thursday evening, Dec. 1, 2016, at 6 p.m. with Dr. Bob Whitmire officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 6 p.m. before the service.

Mr. Sparks was born in Cleburne, Texas to David Othur Sparks and Mary Francis Ambler Sparks.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Shirley Sparks; daughter, Patti (Franklin) Hulsey; son, Wesley (Leslie) Sparks; mother, Mary Bruce; brother, Bill Sparks; grandchildren, Heather Hulsey, Travis Hulsey, Cody Sparks, and a great-grandchild, MicKinley Hulsey.

He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Monticello Baptist Church, 334 W. Greene St., Monticello, GA 31064; Smithboro Baptist Church, 314 Smithboro Rd., Monticello, GA 31064, or the charity of your choice.

The family wants to extend their gratitude and thanks to Abbey Hospice, Social Circle, GA, for their loving care during Jerry’s illness.
