Election Is Next Tuesday
Nearly 2,600 voters in Jasper County had cast their ballots by 9 a.m. Wednesday, and Chief Registrar Carole Norris anticipates more brisk voting though Friday when early voting ends.
In 2012, 2,700 voted early, so we are on pace to exceed that number this year, she said.
Whoever doesn’t vote today, Nov. 3 or tomorrow, Nov. 4, in the Registrar’s Office on the ground floor of the Courthouse will be able to vote next Tuesday, Nov. 8, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at one of the three precincts open—Monticello, Martin & Burney or Wyatt.
In addition to the presidential race, there are several other races, proposed constitutional amendments, and District 3 has a contested commission race.
Sample ballots are available to review at the Courthouse.
