Wear Pink to Game Friday

During the varsity football game tomorrow, Oct. 28 there will be presentations to honor Breast Cancer Month and salute former Hurricane players and coaches.

Patrons are asked to wear pink to Rose Bowl Field Friday night as players will donn their pink gear. The “Pink Out” has become an annual Hurricane football community service project in order to give back to the fans who do so much for them.

The team and Booster Club have planned a Survivor/Memorial balloon release, special music, and public service announcements on how to best serve those families currently challenged by breast cancer. The proceeds of all balloons will be donated to the formation of a Care Scholarship for a survivor. Every adult woman is encouraged to have regular breast cancer screenings.

In addition to the Pink Out event, during halftime of the football game Jasper County High School will recognize and honor former Hurricane players and coaches. This recognition effort started last year with much success and the school would like to continue honoring the strong athletic tradition that the Hurricanes have brought to the community.

Former players and coaches are asked to stop by the “Alumni Table” at the game to sign up in the decade that they played so that they can be honored at halftime.
