Several Are Arrested

Jasper County deputies investigated several incidents in the last week, including damage to mailboxes, and several thefts.

Last Sunday/Monday, three mailboxes on Hwy. 11 north were damaged. In addition, in the days prior to that, deputies received a report of a cell phone stolen at the high school, and a charge of entering auto on Hwy. 16 west where a gun was taken.

In addition, a resident on Ross Road reported the theft of money and an ipad, and tools were taken from an address in Turtle Cove.

Persons booked into the Jasper County Detention Center in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Charles Chance Pickett, 27, Covington—possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects.

•Brandon Tylor Gray, 26, Covington—possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects.

•Tangie Louise Gray, 52, Covington—possession of methamphetamine, drug related objects and probation violation.

•Flora Purvis, 36, Mansfield—battery.

•Alyssa Joy Haskew, 23, Monticello—probation violation.

•Desmond Rashan Willingham, 27, Monticello—sale of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

•Pamela Alanna Oliver, 28, Shady Dale—terroristic threats and acts.

•Katy Ann Rivas, 31, Monticello—headlight violation and driving while license suspended or revoked.

•Michael Oneal Lyons, 50, Shady Dale: possession of marijuana less than an ounce, public drunkenness and crossing guard lines with weapons/drugs/or intoxicants.

•Kala Jeanette Atkinson, 28, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
