NEW FIRE TRUCK

The Jasper County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce a new Fire Engine/Rescue Pumper has been purchased and placed in service at the Jackson Lake Fire Station on Jackson Lake Rd.
The fire truck is a new 2016 International 4400, equipped with a 1,000 gallon water tank, a 1,250 gallons per minute pump and outfitted with advanced firefighting and rescue equipment. The new fire truck is the second fire truck that Jasper County has purchased with the current Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) sales tax receipts. The new fire truck will greatly increase the capability of Jasper County Emergency Services to provide improved fire and rescue services for Jasper County citizens and businesses in the Jackson Lake and surrounding area.
The fire engine currently housed at the Jackson Lake Fire Station will be relocated to the North Alcovy Fire Station to replace a retired 1981 model which will also allow Jasper County Emergency Services to provide improved fire and rescue services in the surrounding area.
Posing with the new fire truck this week are emergency officials and commissioners (from left) Commission Chairman Gene Trammell, County Manager Mike Benton, Fire Chief Jarrett Slocumb, Commissioner Doug Luke, Carlos Rhodes, Commissioner Craig Salmon, Michael Wilson, Luke Steele, Crystal Milligan, Steve Milligan, Leigh Hicks, Commissioner Carl Pennamon, Russell Fowler, Tina Tolbert, and Commissioner Bruce Henry.
