Contest Winner Has Perfect Score

MAGEN WAGES, CLINT CURRIE

This year’s contest has seen several first timers, but this week’s winner is a veteran of the football contest, playing regularly for years and having won before.

Magen Wages correctly guessed the winners of all 15 games listed in last week’s contest, netting her a $25 prize from Monticello Auto Parts. Clint Currie presented Mrs. Wages with her prize Tuesday morning.

It was a relatively easy contest week based on how many people got 12 or more right to make honor roll. Two players had 14 right to narrowly miss winning, and 20 had 13 right. Another 10 players had 12 right to make the honor roll.

Narrowly missing the honor roll, by getting only 11 right, were another 26 players.

Not everyone thought it was easy, nearly 100 players correctly guessed the winners of 10 or less games or less.

This week, veteran and novice players have another chance at the weekly $25 prize as well as a chance to get their name on the Grand Prize Honor Roll. Anyone getting 12 or more right has his or her name added to the honor roll for a chance at a premium ticket package to the Chick-fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

Anyone can play, and anyone can win. Just complete the contest on page 9 of today’s paper, using entry form provided or a separate piece of paper. Then bring it in, fax it in or e-mail it (a new option) to The Monticello News for your chance to win.

We’ve added the e-mail option because our fax machine is having intermittent problems. Please e-mail entries to info@themonticellonews.com.

All entries must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, whether they are faxed to 706-468-6576, e-mailed to info@themonticellonews.com, or brought in person to 247 West Washington Street, Monticello. The winner will pick a $25 prize from Lewis & Malone Heating and Air.
