MS Canes 3-1 in PAC Play

The Middle School Lady Canes have gotten off to a strong start in the Piedmont Athletic Conference (PAC) softball play.

The young squad defeated Morgan County 5-2 on a 13 strikeout performance by pitcher Bailey Jenkins. Avery Barton and Jasmine Stone lead the team in hits with two each against the Bulldogs. There were several errors that lead to scores from the Lady Canes, but Jenkins, Allie Jones, and Hallie Tripp all contributed by getting runs batted in (RBIs) in the game.

The squad allowed the Bulldogs to jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but fought their way back eventually taking the lead in the fifth. The Bulldogs never scored another run after the first inning.

The Lady Canes improved their record to 3-1 in the conference with that win.

The squad will play Loganville MS Friday, Sept. 9 at the Jasper County Recreation Department at 4:30 p.m.
