Lady Canes Extend Winning Streak

The varsity Lady Hurricanes softball squad defeated Alcovy High School last Wednesday 9-2 extending their win streak to five consecutive games.

Lauren Mosley was on the mound for all six innings earning one strikeout.

The ladies earned three runs in the opening inning and six in the fourth. Madsion Abbott and Mosley each had two hits while Lacey Rutledge and O’Neal Sealy had one walk each.

Jessie Caron, Sealy, and Mosley each contributed two runs batted in (RBIs). Sealy had four quality at bats (QABs) while sisters Madison and Kenzie Aboott each had three QABs.

After a six day hiatus, the Lady Canes were to return to action hosting Alcovy High School

Wednesday prior to hosting Elbert County today, Sept. 8 and Locust Grove on Monday, Sept. 12.

The varsity squad will then travel to Lexington to face Oglethorpe High School on Tuesday, Sept. 13 and to Banks County on Thursday, Sept. 15. Games are slated to begin at 5 p.m.
