MS Cougars Win Tuesday

Piedmont Academy’s Middle School softball team defeated Windsor 10-3 on the road Tuesday.

Emily McEwen recorded seven strikeouts while allowing just two walks in fourth innings of work.

Offensively, Maddie Waddleton was 2-for-3 with three RBI while MaLynne Webb was 3-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI. Harris Brady was 1-for-2 and also drove in a run.

Fleming Sealy finished 1-for-3 with two runs and RBI. McEwen was 1-for-1 with a double, run scored and RBI.

“We had an overall good game,” said coach Cameron Vaugh. “The girls came out with a great attitude and got the job done.”

The Lady Cougars scored one run in the top of the first and then added four more in the third and five additional runs in the fourth.

Dakota Floyd, Savanna Taylor, Sealy, McEwen, Webb and Katie Mathews all had stolen bases.
