Men Are Charged After Attempting Contact with 15-Year-Old Girl

Three men have been arrested in Jasper County in the past week on charges of trying to meet up with 15-year-old girls for the purpose of sexual encounters.
The 15-year-old female they thought they were meeting was actually an undercover agent of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
On July 26, Derrick Lamar Richardson of Kernersville, N.C. was arrested by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
Mr. Richardson was arrested and charged with obscene internet contact with a child, distributing obscene material, obscene telephone contact with a child, criminal attempt to commit child molestation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Mr. Richardson was charged after he allegedly communicated about sexual interactions, via the internet, with a female whom he believed to be 15 years of age. Mr. Richardson is also alleged to have traveled to Monticello from Conyers for the purpose of meeting the 15-year-old.
On July 27, Roberto Rodriguez, 28, of Fort Valley, was arrested by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit child molestation, obscene telephone contact with a minor, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and obstruction of an officer.
Mr. Rodriguez was charged after he allegedly communicated about sexual interactions and various illegal activities via the internet, with a female whom he believed to be 15 years of age. Mr. Rodriguez is also alleged to have traveled to Monticello for the purpose of meeting the 15-year-old and bringing her marijuana and engaging in sexual contact with a minor.
Also on July 27, Daniel Case, 36, of Bethlehem, was arrested by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Case was charged with criminal attempt to commit child molestation and obscene internet contact with a minor.
Mr. Case was charged after he allegedly communicated about sexual interactions, via the internet, with a female whom he believed to be 15 years of age. Mr. Case is also alleged to have traveled to Monticello for the purposes of meeting the 15-year-old and engaging in sexual contact with a minor.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced last week that arrests in cases such as this are on the rise.
Deputies investigated several other calls in the last week, and made several arrests. A burglary was reported Saturday on Prarie Chicken Court, where furniture, a sewing machine, collectible figurines and other miscellaneous items were reported taken.
Two jackets were reported stolen from an address on Fullerton Phillips, and a window air conditioning unit was taken from Edwards Mobile Home Park.
There were two accounts of forgery, financial identification fraud reported to deputies, dating back to May.

•Jerome Lamar Reid, 46, Monticello—probation violation.
•Anthony James Mincey, 38, Miami, Fla.—speeding, driving while license suspended or revoked and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Michael Anthony Edwards, 27, Snellville—operating a vessel or watercraft when privileges are suspended.
•Brian Nichols Anderson, 28, Woodstock—failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Terry Nathan Wilson, 34, Hillsboro—parole violation.
•Lauren Machele McDaniel, 26, Hillsboro—parole violation.
•Andrew William Hill, 25, Covington—fishing in closed waters on a public fishing area and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
