Three Are Arrested with Drugs

DRUGS, SCALES, CASH ARE CONFISCATED

On Wednesday, June 8, at about 9 p.m., Jasper County deputies stopped a vehicle on Church Street in Monticello for a traffic violation, according to an announcement from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

Deputies smelled an odor of marijuana upon making contact with the driver. A search of the vehicle revealed an amount of marijuana, digital scales and U.S. currency.

Marcus Renaldo Standifer, 31, of Monticello, Tavoris Antonio Whidby, 31, of Monticello and Candise Lashay Andrews, 30, of Eatonton were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.Subsequently, all three were also charged with possession of drug-related objects. Ms. Andrews was also charged with disorderly conduct. Mr. Whidby was also charged with disorderly conduct and a tag light violation.

Other persons booked into the Jasper County Detention Center in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Michael Allen Loftis, 26, Monticello—probation violation.

•Kenneth Anthony Thurman, 53, Monticello—criminal trespass.

•Tommy Lee Kell, 18, Stone Mountain—probation violation and statutory rape.

•Kevin Andrew Wilhite, 30, Monticello—probation violation.

•Justin Tyler Carter, 21, Covington—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Henry Scott Ashley, 19, Conyers—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Amy Marie Thomas, 36, Stockbridge—hold for warrant in Henry Co.

•Joshua Lamar Holcombe, 24, Oxford—reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fleeting or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, failure to maintain lane, speeding, no insurance and operation of vehicle without current plate.

•Marcus Allen Rogers, 43, Toccoa—probation violation.
