Several Are Sentenced in Court
Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Court Judge Brenda Trammell presided over the Jasper Superior Court motion day calendar May 24.
Patricia Ann Mize was sentenced to six years with the first 90-120 days to be served in the state probation detention center and the balance on probation for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and crossing the guard line with contraband. Fined $2,000.
Rasheed Chavez Tripp was sentenced to five years with first 90 days in jail suspended upon entry into state probation detention center for 90-120 days. Fined $1,500.
Richard Andrew Chambers, sentenced to 12 months of probation for possession of marijuana. Fined $300.
Probation revocations included the following:
Matthew Guy Stephenson, Sr., probation revoked with 295 days to serve in jail which could be suspended upon entry into and completion of an inpatient treatment program of no less than 12 months. The defendant failed to make scheduled court payments and received new charge of burglary in Jasper County in May 2016 following the initial offense of theft by receiving stolen property.
Adrian Adonis Battle, probation revoked with 120 days in jail but all but 45 days shall be suspended upon payment of balance of court fees. The defendant failed to make scheduled court payments, tested positive for drugs and alcohol and failed to appear before revocation hearing in April 2016 following prior offense of loitering.
Johnny Richard Horton, probation revoked to 90 days in jail for failure to complete community service and pay court fees as well as new offenses incurred in Newton County in April 2016.
Jesse Hunter Pope, to serve 56 hours in jail at rate of eight hours per day for testing positive for drugs, failure to make scheduled payments, failure to report to probation, failure to complete community service and failure to get drug evaluation following initial offense of possession of marijuana.
In other action, Judge Trammell ordered a pretrial diversion for Emily Hudson on two counts of possession of schedule IV controlled substance and speeding. She was given three months of probation during which she must maintain good behavior and submit to drug testing. Phillip Clegg received a bond modification for an unindicted act of battery and Melissa Strozier was granted a demand for speedy trial to occur within next two court terms.
May 17 probation revocations included:
Daniel Wade Couch, sentenced to 24 months of probation for two counts of criminal trespass. Fined $500.
Jarrett Douglas Hargrove, sentenced to 12 months of probation for reckless driving. Fined $500.
Darnell Sanchez Norwood, sentenced to 12 months of probation for obstruction of an officer and possession of marijuana. Fined $600.
Robert Pope, sentenced to 12 months of probation for simple battery and obstruction. Fined $400.
Jon Mark Nuckols, sentenced to 12 months of probation for simple battery. Fined $500.
Kevin Chad Cope, sentenced to 12 months of probation for possession of marijuana. Fined $500.
Tabetha Leann Wilson, sentenced to 12 months of probation for disorderly conduct. Fined $400.
Dustin Travis Jeffery, sentenced to 12 months of probation for simple assault. Fined $300.
