Graduations Set This Weekend

Graduation ceremonies for the local schools are set this weekend in Monticello.

A special section saluting all the members of the Class of 2016 is included inside today’s paper.

Jasper County High School will have its commencement exercises this Friday, May 20, at 7 p.m., on Rose Bowl field, weather permitting. In the case of inclement weather, graduation will be held at the school gymnasium at 14477 Hwy. 11 north.

Chad Cain will give the valedictory address, and Clay Evans will give the salutatory address.

Shiloh Christian Academy, 9595 Hwy. 142, Newborn, will hold its exercise also at 7 p.m., Friday, May 20, in the church sanctuary. Kaitlyn Coe is valedictorian.

Piedmont Academy graduation will be held Saturday, May 21, at 10 a.m. in the school gymnasium. The school is located at 126 Hwy. 212 in Monticello.

Morgan Leach will give the valedictory address, and Rebecca Hopper will give the salutatory address.

Included in this section are salutes to the graduates from businesses and organizations, as well as numerous from family members. Some even offer specials for the grads.

The Monticello News staff joins the community in saluting these young men and women as they complete one chapter in their lives and move on to the next.
