TWO-VEHICLE COLLISION

Two vehicles collided at Hwys. 212 and 380 east Monday morning when one failed to yield at the stop sign at 380 and was hit by the other one despite the driver’s efforts to avoid the collision. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Courtney Hilton was traveling south on Hwy. 380 in a 2003 Chevrolet S-10, and either ran the stop sign or after stopping pulled into the path of Gerald Lewis driving a 2004 Peterbilt tractor-trailer who was traveling west on 212. The Chevrolet overturned and rolled several times before coming to a stop on the shoulder. Ms. Hilton was taken by ambulance to the hospital, and was charged with failure to yield.
